Here at SmartRoof we specialise in restoring or replacing any roof. When we are replacing a roof we start by removing and disposing of all existing roof cladding and if required we can replace all timber roof battens. Normally the existing structure will have moved or sagged over time, so straightening or repitching a roof is quite common, sometimes even changing the geometry of the roof so that water flows easily and gets to the stormwater pipe faster, which is always the goal on any roof.
We then install insulation in the form of glasswool blanket or aircell(not sarking) to ensure the minimum amount condensation is created inside the ceiling cavity.
When selecting a roofing profile we choose either Zincalume, Colorbond, aluminium or stainless full-length sheets with a profile to suit roof pitch and length.
To ensure there are no holes for vermin or water to pool or enter the property we make custom refabricated flashings to all sides and penetrations. Installing backtrays or soakers to chimneys and skylights on flat roofs.
Once the roof is complete, we clean down all metal shavings and filings from the roof and cleaning the entire grounds to make it safe for the family to enjoy.
We give a 7-year guarantee on metal roof replacements.
While we’re working, we can recommend and install roof ventilation, ceiling cleaning, ceiling insulation, reseal and recoat parapet walls and chimneys and/or install leaf screens
When would you need this?
- If the existing roof is looking old and rusted
- If the roof leaks during heavy rain
- If the ceilings have excessive mould

Here at SmartRoof, we supply and install any downpipe that you could think of, from PVC, colorbond, aluminium, stainless steel, in standard or completely custom fabricated items.
In the design and detailing of a roof drainage system consideration must be given to a range of the factors such as rainfall intensity, roof catchment area, gutter size/capacity, gutter fall, gutter outlets (sumps, rainheads, nozzles), downpipe size, quantity and placement, overflow consideration, material selection, jointing, etc.
One of the most common problems of a leaking building is a blocked or rusted downpipe. As the downpipe sees the most water of any product they are normally the first thing to need replacing, it only takes one leaf to block the outlet hole and therefore flood the gutter which can cause extensive damage inside the building.
SmartRoof are experts in installing an extensive range of skylights and roof ventilation systems like velux, sun tunnel, solatube, direct, and Edmonds.
Skylights are particularly useful in spaces that do not receive much natural daylight, for example, theatre rooms, hallways, walk-in-robes, and rooms that are next to patios or verandahs. There are many skylight options with some being, opening, solar, ventilated and blinds to suit any application.
Roof Vents are crucial to any house with a roof cavity. In summer, the radiating heat of the roof cavity has to escape, otherwise it affects the heat in the whole house, in winter the moisture laden air needs to escape otherwise it condenses in the roof space and dampness is trapped.
